MUSCANTARA is an immersive audiovisual installation inspired by Tarantismo, a folkloric and ritual phenomenon from Puglia, as described by Ernesto De Martino in Terra del rimorso. Through a synthesis of sound, dance, and video, the project reinterprets this tradition, exploring its connection to mystery, trance, and the therapeutic power of music. Rooted in anthropological research, MUSCANTARA brings Tarantismo into contemporary times, highlighting its social significance and its ability to address issues such as anxiety and marginalization. Conceived by a team that includes members of Puglian origin, the project celebrates and restores to collective memory a cultural heritage of great value.
