Movement Artist · Director · Choreographer
Performance · Film · Music · Fashion · Immersive Experiences
Movement is my primary medium.
I approach the body as both archive and instrument, carrying traces of experience, memory, culture, and imagination.
Rather than focusing on movement itself, I am interested in what movement reveals.
Drawing from observation and embodied experience, I transform gestures, behaviours, and interactions into compositions that uncover connections between bodies, environments, and ways of being.
I work across performance, film, music, fashion, and immersive experiences as a performer, choreographer, movement director, and creative collaborator.
My practice centres on shaping embodied presence — developing movement, images, and relationships that support the emergence of a work’s distinctive language.
Working in dialogue with artists from different disciplines, I create frameworks where individual expression and collective experience can coexist and inform one another.
Biography
Veronica Lillo is an Italian movement artist based in Berlin, working as a dancer, choreographer, and director across performance, film, music, fashion, and immersive experiences, with the body at the centre as a carrier of meaning. Her research draws on history, linguistics, psychology, quantum physics, anthropology, and folklore. These fields shape her understanding of the body as a site of memory, transformation, and relation.
She earned her professional dance diploma on a scholarship at the Scuola del Balletto di Toscana in Florence under the direction of Cristina Bozzolini, and later joined the Artistic Development Program in Freiburg, rooted in the methodology of Les Ballets C de la B. Since 2017, she has worked internationally as a freelance performer with companies and institutions including Sasha Waltz & Guests, Club Guy & Roni, Oxymoron Dance Company, Staatstheater Cottbus, and Cie. Willi Dorner. She also performed in the UEFA EURO 2024 Opening Ceremony in Berlin.
Alongside her performing career, Lillo creates her own choreographic and interdisciplinary work, presented across Europe and Asia. Her solo While I (st)roll alone has been invited to international festivals in Italy, Germany, Poland, and Turkey. Separazione Naturale, a dance film created with MonsterA Collective, has been screened at festivals in the Philippines, Italy, Portugal, and Greece, and received the Audience Award at Moving Bodies on Screen in Potsdam, Germany, in 2025.
She has been commissioned to create choreographic work for fabrik Potsdam, as well as site-specific pieces for Waschhaus Potsdam and for Iris Ceramiche Group during Berlin Art Week. She also led the movement direction for MUSCANTARA, an audiovisual installation on Tarantismo developed with research partners including Museo delle Civiltà and Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Through CINQUE Legacy, a platform for contemporary cross-disciplinary creation, she conceived and directed METANOIA — Art of Transformation, an immersive experience merging movement, fashion, sound, light, and visual art. Following its sold-out premiere at Alte Münze Berlin in March 2026, the project is being developed as an evolving format for international touring.
